A Basic Description, Team Roping is a timed event where two mounted riders catch a steer with their ropes.
The first roper (the header), rides up to the steer and throws his rope around the steer's horns or neck. The other end of the rope is wrapped (dallied) around the saddle horn and the roper tows the steer behind the horse.
The second roper (the heeler) rides up to the steer in tow and throws a loop around the steer's hind legs. The other end of the rope is dallied around the saddle horn and the run is completed when the header turns to face the steer.
Never be afraid to try something new.
Remember, amateurs built the ark, professionals built the Titanic.
